LAMP Theological Seminary - Transfer Information

A perspective student must contact the Learning Site Coordinator prior to submitting any Transcript.

No credit will be allowed for work receiving a grade less than "C" or its equivalent. Quality point averages will be determined on the basis of work done at LAMP Theological Seminary.:

LAMP may transfer credits from other academic institutions. LAMP transfers a limited number of credits, depending on the course content. LAMP reserves the right to evaluate each course based upon its own equivalency standards. The applicant will receive written notification of transferable courses. The applicant has the right to appeal the course equivalency standards, with supporting information.

Students who wish to transfer credits from another institution must submit an official transcript from the institution along with their application, to their local Learning Site (form available in Student form link). Determination of transferable credits are made by LAMP’s main office. Contact your local Learning Site for enrollment.

The decision to accept credits earned at LAMP is at the discretion of the receiving institution. Credits from LAMP have been accepted at several institutions. If the student expects to receive a degree from an institution other than LAMP, they should contact LAMP main office for guidance.

Requests for processing and forwarding official transcripts from LAMP Training must be made in writing. Financial obligations to LAMP must be satisfied. Please include the following in your request:
1. Your complete name (also include maiden name - if applicable)
2. Your current address, phone number, and email address
3. Years you attended or when you graduated from LAMP Training
4. Complete mailing address of location the transcript is to be sent
5. Your handwritten signature must be included for the request to be processed.
6. Transcript Request Fee - transcripts are $5. Money order or check

The United States Department of Education (USDOE) wrote in its publication on accreditation, that:

"Accreditation does not provide automatic acceptance by an institution of credit earned in another institution…[A]cceptance of students or graduates is always the prerogative of the receiving institution… [F]or this reason…students should take additional measures to determine, prior to enrollment, whether or not their educational goals will be met through attendance at a particular institution. These measures should include inquiries to institutions to which transfer might be desired…"

All degree programs of LAMP Theological Seminary are intended for religious training in ecclesiastical vocations and are taught from the perspective of a Christian world-and-life view. We encourage all students to consider the above recommendation of the USDOE prior to enrolling with LAMP. This is especially important since the USDOE will not even ensure transfer of credits from one of their own accredited institutions to another.
